Education

Coming from a family of religious scholars, Sayed Jawad began his religious studies at the young age of 16 under the guidance of his esteemed grandfather, Ayatollah Sayed Mortada Qazwini, the Imam of the Eastern Wing of the Imam Hussain shrine and a prominent religious authority in the sacred city of Karbala. In 2006, he relocated to Qom, Iran where he had the privilege of studying under some of the finest scholars and authorities in the seminary, eventually culminating in his attainment of the equivalent of a PhD within the institution. As a result of his upbringing and education, he is fluent in English, Arabic, and Farsi. Currently, he is working on an academic analysis of the Holy Quran in an effort to better educate the masses about this rich, sacred text.

Perspective

Evident through his sizable presence on social media platforms and early adoptions of new avenues of outreach, Qazwini has made a concerted effort to embrace the public discourse, and operate in arenas that move genuine conversation. In a climate where Muslim youth may often be flooded with pressures to compromise their faith for the sake of social ease, he feels it is important for them to see allies and receive reassurance from trusted figures within their community.

Initiatives

Aside from his presence as one of the founders and resident scholar of AMYN (American Muslim Youth Network) based in Houston, he is also the Founder of the Imam Ali Conference, and The Imam Ali Network. In addition to his efforts within his personal projects, he is a frequent contributor on multiple global television networks and visits centers across the globe to deliver lectures.
